Steering lock on 98 Malibu
My 98 Malibu was recently stolen and recovered. No one can figure out how they started the car (I have all the keys) and drove the car away.
I'm not sure how they got around the factory anti-theft but I thought I knew how they were able to drive it away. Although there was no damage to either the outside looks or the ignition switch I believe they simply forced the wheel lock once they started the car. However according to the autobody place and the dealership (not chev) there never has been a steering wheel lock on this car. I must be going crazy because I'm sure there was. Who has heard of a recent vintage of car without one. If you have a recont model Malibu please confirm that you turn the steering wheel without starting the car or that there is indeed a wheel lock. You might save my sanity. Thanks for any help you can offer. Kelly |
