04 malibu maxx steering lock

My wifes malibu has a dashlight on and it appears the car has somekind of security lock on.Bought it used with no maNUAL. how do i disable the lock? car starts but won't turn. is that part of the security lock? please help down to one car with a 7 MONTH OLD NO FUN

You mean the steering wheel is locked? It is electric steering, the DIC should show a steering malfunction.
You might try removing the negative battery terminal for a few minutes, then maybe you will be able to drive it to the dealer to get it checked out.
