Unhappy 2001 Civic LX Noise when going through puddles

The roads in my area tend to harbor some puddles when it rains. By puddle I am talking about one that would basically splash someone that would be standing three feet away from it, if I was to drive through it. Now when I'm doing my normal driving and just minding my own business and just happen upon one of these puddles along the side of the road, a horrible noise occurs in the right front wheel well area (maybe gets into engine compartment area). If I pull over and stop for a few seconds and let the water drain from where ever it may be, the noise goes away. My question is two fold, 1)is this normal? 2)should I be concerned?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing besides the noise so far. Although I'm sure it's not good for the car! It sounds like a loud hum but it also sounds as if water is either getting somewhere where something is rotating or the water ends up being rotated (tire).

I know if I take it to a Honda dealer, I'll have to take it when it's raining in order to reproduce the noise.

Just a loud hum? Mine make a type of hum and a screetching noise when I travel through some water, belts are due and the water makes em slip a little. Could be that. What kind of honda do you have, what is in that part of the engine bay that could get goofy with water on/in it?
