High temp reading when going through drive thrus
Has anyone else noticed that the engine runs hot when going through drive thrus? My 2000 venture does everytime I go through the drie up at the bank etc. It will not cool down until I start driving again. It does not do it when I am idling in park though.

Re: High temp reading when going through drive thrus
the engine is under load if it is in drive holding the brakes. Are your fans kicking on?

Re: Re: High temp reading when going through drive thrus
I don't think so. I noticed tonight when I was at stop light I didn't hear the fan kick on until I put on the gas. What is strange is that it does not heat up at stop lights, and I can be at a stop light a lot longer than a drive through. I think it may have soemthing to do with moving a short distance at a time and stopping???

Heh there Momofjorwes Check out my thread near the top of the page that says "heat range" I have a 98 Venture with the same issue. The answer seems to be change the thermostat. I am going to try it as soon as I can. Good luck with yours and let us know if you solve it differently. |

Re: High temp reading when going through drive thrus
I Have the same problem in my 2000 venture, temp goes up to half without fan turning on, only goes down to 1/4 on guage when i start driving, already change the coolant temp sensor but fan still wont start even if temp guage is at half. only good bout it is that if i just keep moving it wont go past half.
