Moving this to the Chevrolet Malibu forum as I think you might get more direct answers from the owners of these vehicles.

Re: 2006 Chevrolet Malibu LT

I have a 2005 Malibu LS and love it so far! V6 engine of course...! I've had mine for 3 months and like how is good on gas, has plenty of power, awesome braking, great handling and ride confort.
This model (2004 to 2007) is build on the SAAB 9-3 platform (Epsilon body) same as Pontiac G6 which is far improvement over the old L bodies from yesteryear.
Take it for a spin and make sure everything is up to order, should still be under warranty if the miles are not too high!

The '04s (have one) and the '05s are troublesome, but the '06s and '07s have most (but not all) of the bugs worked out. The bugs that weren't yet worked out on the '06 were relatively minor. Primarily sqeaks and rattles and suspension noises.

Re: 2006 Chevrolet Malibu LT

Just bought an 07 malibu ls , only had it for a couple of weeks. Mine is a four cylinder, totally love it. Quiet comfortable ride. Has electric power steering, handles awesome, curious how the power steering works though.
