Braking Problems

Sorry, Im new to these forums. I couldn't find a forum for brakes specifically.

Anyways: I just got a great deal on a '92 Buick Century w/ 52,000 miles, mint condition, for $900 (old people didn't have any room for it). Runs great, everything is fine except with the passenger side rear drum brake. Everytime I hit the brakes at a low speed it will lock up immediatly (no ABS), with almost no pressure at all. After driving awhile the problem will go away and it wont lock up at all. But then if I let the car sit for awhile it will do it again for about 5 mins until I wear the brakes a bit. It's very odd... Anyways I ended up replacing a cylinder because the old one was going bad, hoping that would fix the problem: But it didn't. So I bled the brakes, that didn't help either. I also swapped the drums (right side to left, left to right side).

Does anyone have any clue whatsoever to what might be casuing this problem? Im so clueless right now. It sat for 5 months out of the year so it is possible some of the parts are a little out of shape... Springs maybe?????

replace the hardware and the shoes ... it sounds like you have either a weak spring or a contaminated lining

Nope replaced everything... any other ideas? Still locks up...

did the friction material get alot of brake fluid on it when the wheel cylider went bad ??? if yes re-place the shoes ... if no the star adjuster is probably to tight

We cleaned the shoes, there shouldn't be an brake fluid on them. I still actually need to adjust the star adjuster, hopefully that will fix the problem. I'm going to do that this weekend, ill let you know if it works.
