The Skyline Series

Hello again .....

This is the collection of Nissan Skyline(s) .... Both exterior and interior colors
are identical, TS 14 Black for the Bodies and the combination of TS-7 Racing White and TS-46 Light Sand for the interiors.

The first is 1970 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R Hard Top from tamiya

The Second is 2007 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 from aoshima

Critics and Comments are welcome ...and thanks for looking

Re: The Skyline Series

Hi, welcome to AF!

firstly i thought i was gonna see the whole fleet of skylines...about 5 of them!?

your builds are beautiful, the colors match very nicely in my opinion.
but i prefer the older skyline to wear some older type of sport rims, the 18 inches look a little out of place if this is a real car...offset wrong, rubbers too wide etc...i wonder how the driver gonna turn his real car with the front offset that much out.

take a look at the R34 wheels combi & you'll know what i mean. the wheels hid under the fenders...low & seating there just like how a real low GTR on the road.

but this is just my little opinion...great job again!

Re: The Skyline Series

looks great in black, but the rims on the kpgc10 looks off. old school 13/14 inch rims look best for this type of car, with plenty of lip. but your builds are so clean!!!

thanks for the comments , actually i wasn't quite satisfied with the look of the original rims ( from the box ) , therefore i changed the original rims with
the rims from wrc car....i forgot which car was it because it was already broken into pieces , but i agree with you that the wrc rims seemed off with the skyline.

Well .....i changed the rims (again) , let me know what you think and thanks for looking.

ps: Sorry for my -not quite good- english

Re: The Skyline Series

Those gold wheels are WAY better! They look amazing AND era-specific. Plus the white lettering makes it look completely badass! In other words, nice choice

Re: The Skyline Series

Yeah its pretty nice oldschool car. I agree those rims look a LOT better and go with the car. They even kinda match the interior color.

Re: The Skyline Series

The older Skyline from Tamiya & the newer Skyline from Aoshima when put together like not on the same scale like that... The old Skyline seems big & the R34 seems small...

Sometimes Tamiya 1/24 scale seems a bigger car than Fujimi & Aoshima's 1/24.

this is a very serious flaw, if it's proved valid!

that especially so to me, a strict 1/24 scale builder...
i mean what's the point of declaring the scale on the kit if they are not true!? i won't be modeling for such a long time if there's no such thing as scale...for that fact, who will?
just imagine a 1/24 car body come with a 1/28 wheels & a 1/20 engine...etc. what will it look like!!!

can someone verify this statement, that tamiya or other makes do oversize their 1/24 kits!?

no joke.

Re: The Skyline Series

shouldn't be the most diffcult thing to check.
You can find the wheelbase figures of the car and simply divide by 24 and compare with the wheelbase of the model.

Don't forget that Tamiya famously tweaks their kits to make them looker better in scale and so are not always 100% acccurate anyway.
