Do you mean what parts are carb recognized as ok for smog in california? cause if thats what you are looking for, ck out the BAR web site www.smogcheck.ca.gov I think thats it.
you can find a list of items california ok!
Otherwize any part you put on your car that does not have a CARB approve sticker on it or in the box is an automatic smog fail,

If you want to keep legal might as well go with the basic bolt-ons.

Talking CARB EXEMPT

Actually there aren't any parts that are Smog Inspection Exempt unless the car was made prior to 1975. it is up to the smog tech or referee to decide. But I can tell you that any exhaust parts between the engine and the catt converter have to have CARB approval and you need the documents to prove it.
there is a list of parts that are approved by CARB if you cant find it on the web site www.smogcheck.ca.gov then you can request the list when you are on the site.
Cold Air is overlooked "exempt" because Honda's do not require TAC (thermostatic air cleaner) and after catt items like mufflers and such are overlooked because no emissions corrections are performed after the catt.
