Honda S2000

It has been a long time since I finished anything. I finally got around to completing this one.

I airbrushed it with Testors Blue Angels Yellow (enamel) and finished with Tamiya clear. I can't remember what make the wheels are. If I saw the box i would remember. Anyhow, I finished the centers with black lacquer. I used Pegasus tires to lower their profile. The side markers were shaved off to clean it up. I removed the roll bar assembly behind the seats as well. It was too bulky looking for my taste. I replaced it with a spare Fujimi Civic rear seat back cut to fit. Exhaust pipes were formed from aluminum tubing. No body kits or wings on this one, but I threw a Spoon decal on it so it would match my yellow Integra R. I think that sums it up...

Very clean and tidy! Excellent style. The yellow somehow looks just right on this one, I think maybe because of the excellent wheel choice. I noticed something funny about the front quarters but it wasn't until I read your remarks that I realized the sidemarkers were missing! Talk about subtle but delicious. Great work!

Re: Honda S2000

May I ask how you did the body panel lines? what did you use, paint, applicator
Those are some of the best looking body lines I've seen around here, they look excellent!

Re: Honda S2000

I built this one a while ago. Good to see it revisited.

The panel lines are simple. I'm sure others here use a similar technique. First clean them out with a toothpick (sharpened if needed). Then mix about 2/3 paint thinner to about 1/3 black enamel. Take small thin brush and apply the thinned black into the panel line. It should be drawn in by osmosis for the most part. Keep applying until the desired darkness is achieved. Then clean any excess outside with a cotton swab dipped in a light amount of paint thinner. Take note: this will only work safely with a lacquer clear-coated body. The paint thinner on the swab might tarnish other finishes.

Re: Honda S2000

Nice and clean. Shaving the side markers sure was a great idea, gives the S2K that subtle custom look. The S2K is one of the very few cars that are so perfectly shaped that it doesn't need any sort of body kit. The only addition could be the OEM Mugen front lip.

Love it! Excellent choice of wheels, BTW.
