Well after a couple of weeks and all the help from everyone on this board finally got my intake.Yep went with Place Racing,just threw it on as a "short ram" or Hybrid as some call it.The sound is killer it really GROWLS I can feel the results.I've went thruogh a tank of gas in like four days.I've already ordered the y-pipe and magnaflow muffler.Thanks for all the help everyone

It was almost as much fun researching the stuff as was buying it.Maxima intakes sound different than most CAIs deeper sound,Once you start modding it's hard to stop.

Hey 97WVMAX start drooling,I just got my y-pipe from warpspeed today and went and picked up my magnaflow.They look good except for my drool spots on 'em.They're going on next week.What are some opinions on the underdrive crank pulleys?

go for the pullies. if you have a bangin system in your car you might not wanna get the belt and pulley for the alternator unless you get a capacitor(sp?)

Do they make an altenator pulley for the 4gen?I've got a JL stealth box with a PPI 200 watt amp thats all.Does anyone have dyno proof that they really free up HP I've heard both arguements but no proof.

i think the pulleys are effective but they're more effective in conjuction with similar mods. i would get a centerforce or act clutch, lightened racing flywheel and then pulleys. you won't "Gain" much horse power, but your car will rev up much faster from the flywheel and pulleys and the clutch will give you better launches and engagements into gears.

As for the intake, cai's make good low end-to-mid range power but run out when you get to the top end cuz of all the piping

i think the pulley doesnt give but a few extra horsies, but it does free up some strain on the engine. does any1 have the specs for a udp? my stepdad works in a machine shop and if i could get the spec maybe i could get him to make a few. any1 interested in that?

oh ya, if i can get him to do it, maybe he can get some more lightweight alloy or maybe trim a lil more weight off
