The best fuel injector cleaner I ever used is This Process

As for cleaners which do not require removal of the injectors, Chevron Techron injector cleaner has provided reasonable success for me. Just follow the label recommendations. One bottle for 12-15 gallons has always been a good start.

If you are concerned about fuel mileage, check your air filter, PCV valve and vacuum lines, tire pressure, alignment, rear brakes, and test th eoxygen sensor activity and output. At 122K, the sensor could be getting weak, costing you fuel.

Use Top Tier Gas and you shouldn't have to worry about cleaning injectors or other deposits.http://toptiergas.com/

Re: Best Fuel Injector Cleaner Experiences

As a heads up for next time i would run the fuel injector service about a month before i changed the fuel filter out. I use a couple things in my business. BG44k and Amsoil P.I. to add to the gas and let run. I also use SeaFoam which you can buy at your local parts store, i think it works awesome. With the car warmed up already, you would disconnect the PCV hose from the Brake Booster and poor 1/3 of the can down the hose. This hose has vacuum so you'll feed it in slowly or you will stall the engine. Not a big deal if you do, just restart it and let it run for a second before continuing. Once you have that 1/3 in you turn the vehicle off and let it set for 15 minutes. Then crank it up and drive it around on the highway for a little while until all the white smoke is done exiting from your tailpipe. All the cars i work on are older vehicles and this cleans them pretty darn good. I also do it on my 94 Suburban w/ 350. I get 16mpg. Good luck to you.

The injectors in your truck are not the traditional injectors most vehicles have. You have a POPPET style injectors on your truck and conventional cleaning methods WILL NOT WORK! Don't believe the hype.
There are 2 ways you can fix this.
1. Install the updated injector unit for this vehicle that changes to poppet style injectors to regular multec style injectors.
Or
2. Have the poppets unstuck. To do this, high pressure nitrogen (150psi) is forced thru the poppets to unstick them..Sometimes if a poppet is severly stuck, this method may not unstick it and option 1 will have to be done.
If you are having cold start misfires, this is a good indication of severly stuck poppets.
Either one of these options are available from your GM dealer.
Either way you go, make sure you use TOP TIER gasoline whenever you fill up, this type of gas has additive packages to prevent injecotr and poppet clogging.
Good Luck
