Burned Transmission Fluid?
I just changed my trans fluid a few thousand miles ago, car has 113,000 miles and its a 2003 pontiac grand prix gt 3.8engine. When i pull the dip stick the first pull the dip stick leaves a black streak on the towl after that first pull though no more black is left, what do you think this is?

Re: Burned Transmission Fluid?
Do have any other transaxle issues other than that? What you are seeing is normal once you get high mileage. I get it when I do the first wipe on a white paper towl. IMO normal fair wear and tear since the clutch packs and other internal components wear over a period of time. Unless you are having tranny issues I would not worry about it.

Re: Burned Transmission Fluid?
Second!
Does it on pretty much every vehicle I've ever worked on. As long as the flud stays red/pink and doesnt smell burnt I wouldnt worry about it.
