Arrow Easiest & Cheapest Power Boosters

2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (108K Miles)
Fender Cold Air
Cat-Back Exhaust 2" or 2.5"
High-flow mufflers

Ok, I'm now suffering from the condition we all get where faster doesn't stay fast enough (is there an existing name for that?). I'd like to take the next cheapest and easiest step towards increasing horsepower, speed, and performance. Any suggestions?

**My brother is an avid car enthusiast who loves to squeeze horsepower out of cars. The only problem is that he seems to reduce one month of the car's life everytime he adds a horse to the output! I'm looking for some mods that won't cost me any life of the vehicle or engine! (Cake and eating it too.)

I've thought about getting a smaller pulley, but from what I've seen, you need to do several mods to support the change. Is there a pulley reduction that is slight enough not to need extra mods? Do 3.6" or 3.5" pulleys exist?

I'm also curious to know how gas mileage will be affected by what mods. So if that isn't enough for everyone to comment on, I don't know what is!**

Thanks for the help!

that would be called a mod bug...doesnt it suck??

anyways...have you thought about a ubend delete? also, maybe a 1.0 PCM upgrade? once you do that...you SHOULD have enough to support a 3.4 pulley.

Why they put that stupid ubend in there in the first place is beyond me. A simple engineering tweak would've solved that one easily. A question about the unbend; do you find that the pipe gets too low to the ground and scrapes?

naw...it is flush with all the rest of the exhaust. the only reason GM put it there is so they could fit the O2 sensor above the exhaust to supposedly keep it out of "harms way" so to speak.

Re: Easiest & Cheapest Power Boosters

have you ever considered using colder air or try installing a k+n intake....these intakes claim to increase hp by like 3-10hp....also there is a system that uses co2 to cool the air and the fuel but colder air is the key to more hp and better mileage

Re: Easiest & Cheapest Power Boosters

Just to be fair.

Intense Racing

And contrary to the old claims I've never had any problem with my Intense PCM. Also, I have a DHP v 1.0 that I can swap with if conditions dictate.

Did you buy a pre-made u-bend delete or did you fab your own? I love your GTX by the way. I don't know a whole lot about those; same engine and specs and GTP?
