Smile AMT F&F supra WIP

Guess this the best model amount the AMT F&F series. The body of the supra are generally in pretty good shape. The only problem are round edges in the front bumber and the side skirt. So wat I have done is sharpen the edges in the front bumber and the sideskirt (edge around the whole) with cutter

Body has been painted with 2 layer of flat orange yellow, then few layer of (transparent orange + purple pearl powder + ~ 10% flat base).

Will polish and spay another few layer of clear coat in few weeks time.

Re: AMT F&F supra WIP

Here comes a little update for my supra. Accident happen again after I polish the body I found a very deep scratch on the top of the car, end up stripping down the whole car.

Here's my little experiment with nail polish, I use flat base as the base color, then orange mica nail polish and clear orange as the top coat.

Scratch build the interCooler, intake manifold turbo and the piping

So here we go let's look athe engine first. Rebuild the intake and exhaust manifold with solder iron

Scratch build intercooler, turbo and air intake

Here comes the interior, little mod with on the pedal the metal bit are from softdrink can and the red strip are masking tape painted red

Test assembly the interior

Re: AMT F&F supra WIP

Im curious about that too. Every time I try to paint with yellow, it looks pretty ugly. Im working on an AMT F&F Supra as well, but not this one. Your's looks great.

Maybe this will motivate me to post mine.

alex.

Re: AMT F&F supra WIP

Hi Guys, I airbrush most of my parts.
Do you mean the yellow in the interior?
I use Mr Hobby acrylic most of the time. And I always mix them with flat base. The reason for this is glossy colour are more transparent than flat colour.

In my experience red and yellow are pretty nasty colour(they are relatively weak in terms of masking other colour). And most of the time the base colour will affect how it appear.

Hope it helps

Re: AMT F&F supra WIP

I would airbrush the yellow as well, as mentioned previously yellow has a relatively low masking ability, you might end up having a thick layer if you brush it on.

In terms of mixing, i usually use 1:1 - 1:2 paint to thinner ratio. PM me if you need help with airbrush cheers mate
