Ok, I have a 55 chevy stepside truck and i do not want to hack up my original dash to put in a deck or whatever... but... i have a laptop, and i was wondering if it would be possible to run my whole stereo system through my laptop, like my subs and amp. I think it would be good because i could just download my mp3's from home, and then bring my laptop and play em on winamp in my truck.. i have a consul designed for it if it works. Any ideas?
And one more thing, my truck is not fuel injected, but i was wondering if i can get any guage programs for fuel injected applications like temp or whatever that will read on the laptop. Thank you for your help, Lance

I have seen it done in a couple of mags. You need a decent head unit with line in. I will try to hunt down some sites with people who have done it. There are people who have done it with a normal desktop case strapped into their boot running Linux off an inverter.
