Shipping

Where would I go to ship a motor, motor parts, or transmission?

Re: Shipping

There should be trucking firms that ship items like this near you. Check the yellow pages of your local phone book for options. You might be able to use such shippers as UPS, Fed Ex, DHL if the parts you want to ship are under their respective maximum weight limitations. If you are shipping to one address then your best bet would be another trucking firm.

Re: Shipping

Ok, so are you talking like MCT, or TBI for trucking firms? I am hopefully selling two trannies and parting out 2 motors from 2 240sx's and a few other various parts, and I need to know where to take them so I can ship them if needed.

Re: Shipping

Yes, they should be listed in the yellow pages of your local phone book under "trucking". Many firms offer service to any customer whether you own a business or not. You simply take whatever needs to be shipped to their facility and they will ship it. Some may even offer a service of packaging it up for you at an additional cost, but it's best to call ahead and find out. If you call ahead you can also find out any other requirements for shipping , such as whether the items need to be palletized and shrink-wrapped, or boxed, any required paperwork, and any other info they may need before shipping your item(s).

Re: Shipping

Ok, the trannies will probably need to be palatized, but other than that I shuld be fine, unless someone buys the whole motors. I wasnt sure if UPS or FED-EX would ship mottors or trannies.

Re: Shipping

UPS or Fed Ex won't ship anything that weighs more than 150 lbs.

Re: Shipping

Im guessing ill be able to ship everthing through them except the trannies. Not sure how much I will get with the motors since one has a blown head, and the other threw a rod, so they are not the biggest of my worries, the trannies are. Thank you.
