Hey guys!
I recently bought a tack cloth made by Gerson. It says "Cleans any wood, metal or plaster surface of dust, dirt, and sanding residue... ready for a smooth, blemish free finish!" I was using it on my current model and it left a clear residue. I'm not sure what it is but it is sticky as hell. I needed to wash my hands with dish detergent after giving the model a light swipe. Following are my Q's: 1. How much pressure should I use when using a tack cloth? 2. Is it normal that there is some 'glue' residue? 3. Is there a recomended temp to keep them at? 4. Is there a expiry date for these cloths? (The packaging says 2004) 5. Is there a special type that I need to buy for modeling paint work? Or are they pretty much the same? 6. Any tips anyone would like to share? Thanks in advance for replies. Steve

Re: Tack Cloth Questions
I remember reading somewhere about using a tack cloth on a model. You dont want the kind that has the waxy residue on it, as it will leave a film on the model.

Re: Tack Cloth Questions
Most general purpose tack cloths are way to waxy for models.
Look for a 'clear coat' tack cloth, i've seen them from 3M. I keep mine in a plain bag so i don't remember the packaging.
