Question Springs / Struts

I've recently taken interest in my cars suspension. The stock suspension is not even close to being adequate, especially when it feels like the cars gonna tip when taking a turn at 20 mph. I have been looking around here and maxima.org and I found that people seem to like the Ground Control Coil Overs + KYB struts combination. I was looking around maxima.org and I came across the shop talk section and they were showing suspensions and commented on the rides. It seems that the GCC's have a really stiff ride. I'm completely new to this, but I am assuming that it really depends on how much you lower your car.

The question is, which is the best combination? I'm looking for both comfort and sportiness, but I know you have to sacrafice some comfort in order to have good turning ability. The GCC are also adjustable, but I dont know if thats better than having a preset size. Also, whats the deal with the weights? Finally, any idea on how much it'll run me with install?

coilovers are expensive but by the time you by springs, struts, and install your really not saving much just buying the springs. i have the eibach pro-kit which is like a 1.3 inch drop, the ride is still alright but i need to replace my struts before they blow. i just dont have the loot right now for KYB's. they cost about 380 and they are 8 pt adjustables. you also might want to look into a strut bar and a rear sway bar. that will complete your suspension and make it turn really tight after you lower it. you have to allign the car too after you replace the springs, and they wont just do that at any shop because its not factory specified anymore.

Yea, it seems like I'd probably go the KYB AGX route, along with the Ground Control coilovers. Both the KYB's and GC's are adjustable. I'm just wondering about the ride quality, I dont want it to be ridiculously stiff, I still want a comfortable ride somewhere in there. I'm also wondering about how easily they can both be adjusted, along with the recommended settings. If anyone has experience with these's please post, thanks in advance .

before I up and mod my suspension, what do you mean by that? Like, if just any shop wont do it, who will?

Very happy with my Progress/AGX combo. If your looking for comfort that's the way to go. If you are looking for optimal performance getting "true" coilovers and not just ground control coilovers which only allow height adjustability. As for the install, it's real easy to do if you are interested in saving some money otherwise it'll average about $60-$75 per strut to have a shop install them. Also some other suspension mods you might look into are strut bars and a rear sway bar. For the $ they dramatically increase the handling.

Most shops can adjust to factory specs if the drop isn't too extreme (>2"). Even if the drop is extreme you can purchase adjustable camber bolts or even adjustable camber plates that allow you to properly align the wheels.
