Intake Filter

Okay If I wanted to take my old air intake out and put a new one in, would this work? Taking out the air filter box, and the tube that runs out to the front of the engine, but leave in the tube that runs from the air filter box, to the fuel injector. If this is confusin im sorry, but this to me would seem a lot cheaper then getting a whole new tube. Thanks, Oh and also because I have an auto I was thinking of getting a shift knob, and shift boot to make it look like a 5 speed or something like that. If i would do that would i still be able to take it out of park, because when i have it in drive, i can put it in neutral or reverse or whatever without pressing the button.

the levoc/napolex are really good looking, but they are expensive like $90 the last time i checked. I thought about doing that too when I first got my 4dr, but I decided that once I"m out of college and have another car to drive around, I'm turning this sucker into a sleeper.

all i did was take an extra intake hose and cut it down, shoved it in the one i had on my car and put a K&N Cone filter on the end.
