car running on it's on

Recently installed two new fuel injectors, car now has a rough idle and someone suggested that because the injectors had leaked that maybe gas got into the oil. Anywho now the car will speed up on its on without me pushing the gas pedal..I can do 10 mph on a flat with my foot off the gas.

Also I have gotten the code for the EGR valve would this have anything to do with the car running rough it hadn't until we changed the injectors and the code for the EGR was before we changed them. How in the heck do you get under the thermostat to take off the EGR valve..I got one bolt out and couldn't get to the other.

Has anyone else experienced this? BTW it's a 1995 with a 2.2l engine any suggestions will help out a bunch Thanks guys

Re: car running on it's on

I had the same thing happen with the 2.2L in my '96 half-truck. It turns out that the replacement injectors don't have the same flow ratings as the originals, so there will be constant misfire until you install a matched set. To you naysayers, send your set(s) of the www.cruzinperformance.com to have them cleaned and flow-matched. The results will be enlightening. What a waste of money for me, since the replacements I installed were useless because they didn't match flow with anything else, new or old.

I thought about that, but then the ones that were in didn't match either..at least one of them..now there are three new ones and one old one..I actually had the oil changed and she's running better not quite as rough..still hesitates a little I may replace the last injector and see if that changes things. the other thing I noticed was the fan came on when I removed one of the vacuum hoses from the fuel port..hope I'm saying this right..I'm learning the car and it's parts so bare with me...but it's attached to the fuel injectors..is this normal..for the fan to come on I mean
