Vibration after oil change

Got a strange problem on an 07 Rav4.
It has the 4cyl engine.
My wife bought it new in January and has been driving it since.
This weekend, she hit her 1st 3000 miles and I changed the oil.

I used Mobile1 Full Synthetic 5w20 (weight the oil cap calls for) and a new filter.

Now an oil change is not rocket science and I have been doing them on cars for over 30 years.

My wife is claiming that immediately after the oil change however, she is getting some vibration at idle.
She states that she did not have it before and the only thing that has happened is the oil change.

The Oil Drain plug is tight and the filter is tightened correct....neither have leaks.
The Oil cap is back on and the Dipstick is back in..
The Oil levels are correct since the change.

I do not see how I pulled any vac lines loose.

What on earth can be causing the vibration?

Re: Vibration after oil change

Just changed the oil in my 06 4cyl. Can't think of anything that would cause a vib from such a simple task unless you damaged a plug wire and that would be noticeable at any speed. You may just be seeing a big coincidence. Have the dealer look at it. It's free.

5W20 oil is acceptable but, 0W20 is recommended. Wouldn't effect your vibe though. Think about using Toyota oil and filters till the warranty is up. That's one less arguement Toyota would have in the event your engine bites it. In any case, keep all your receipts.

Re: Vibration after oil change

Drive it yourself and see if it has any vibration when the engine is hot at idle; in gear or out of gear. Even pulsations in gear are normal for a 4 cylinder.

Re: Vibration after oil change

One thing may not have to do with the other. It may just be coincedence that it happened when it did. I'de get the car checked out electronically at the dealer. It could be some thing simple. And try to make sure that when you do go that it's doing what you claim so that they know what they are dealing with. Some times techs can find the problem and some times they can't. It depends on how the vihicle is performing with the scanner hooked up to it. There may not be an issue at all. It may just be a characteristic of the engine to feel like it runs rough. My 97 with the 2.0 has had that feeling since 98. I have no issues, though. It's the way it is. GM had a issue with one of their engine models. Upon starting the car or suv with this engine it knocked internally until it warmed up. It was a normal condition. Caddy, too, had that same issue with the V8s that they installed in their line. They fixed that issue by rebuilding the engine with redesigned parts. It's always the luxury class that get fixes. Oh well...
