Remote leyless entry, Very weird problem.

Ok, first off I have a 1997 buick regal 3800 GS. I just bought the car today and it came with 2 key fobs for RKE. Now the weird thing is, I can open the trunk with both fobs, I can unlock doors with one but not the other and cannot unlock any doors with either one. I have tried different reset articles i have read on here , key in, key out, key in 3 chime, but i do not get the 2 chimes after holding buttons for nearly 30 seconds (at one point). I was going to try the ground the trunk wire one, but I don't have an antenta on my car let alone find the wire..lol. Only thing i didnt try was the jumper one for the computer reader. IMO i dont think this is the issue anyway where somethings work with some fobs and others dont with others one. I did clean contacts also AND changed batteries in them. Any idea what may be causing this? Thanks.

Did the car come with an owners manual? There are many different proceedures for programming the remotes, and the proper one for your car would be included in you owners manual.

No I wish it did, anyone else have a 1997 regal GS with a manual who may have another idea to program this with. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Remote leyless entry, Very weird problem.

Trying the jumper in the trunk won't won't because there is no provision for that and since it has a body control module and RCDLR receiver module which is located in the dash.

The RKE programming for 97-99 is the same so try the procedure below. Both keyfobs must be programmed. Make sure you are pressing the unlock button on the door not the keyfobs in the procedure first and then lock/unlock on the keyfobs. If that doesn't work then you most likely have two bad keyfobs.

Re: Remote leyless entry, Very weird problem.

Tried that one several times and as stated I get the chimes when i release the unlock on door, but i can hold lock/unlock on fob(s) for however long i want to no avail, i never hear the beeps saying it is activated, yet, i can open the trunk, but not lock the doors, and can unlock, with one, and diff with the other, but neither will unlock doors. Thxs for the input, now about to try the amped jumper fix.

OK, Tired that last one also (Even though I have no Blk/Wht wire) didn't work, will have to go to the dealer i suppose and have them try one of theirs with my car to see if its the receiver or the fobs, thanks again for the suggestions.
