2002 Venure and Backlight Out
One of my backlights is out (driver's side). How easy is it to replace by myself? What is the replacement bulb for this?

Re: 2002 Venure and Backlight Out
You should be able to do this. I believe a phillips head screwdriver will remove the rear tail lamp assembly, that is easy. The bulb could be bad but you will want to check the socket you remove the bulb from for corrosion. I did one in the fall on the LH side and the bulb socket was rather corroded.
I actually had to break the bulb and CAREFULLY dig the rest of the bulb pieces out of the socket. After some CLR and a old toothbrush it was clean. I used a little die-electric grease on the bulb and the socket to help keep the socket and bulb from corroding again. A parts store should be able to tell you which bulbe you need. Is it the running/turn signal lamp or the second running lamp. I vaguely remember how those bulbs are arranged. |
