Ordering from Best1Hobby

Who has ordered from these guys and what are your opinions?

I just find their system a little odd! Many items are listed as 'usually ship in 2-3 weeks or 4-6 weeks' Are they quite a small operation?

I ordered from them before, remember the fiasco I had with my 2 mugen integra's getting stolen? They handled it VERY well, so as far as that goes, thier customer service is impeccible. Any questions asked through email are answered usually in the same day..

here how the shipping times go...

24hrs: Means they have it in stock..
2-3 weeks: means they have to order from a US distributor..
4-6 weeks: means they have to order from Japan..

Yeah, they are a pretty small operation being that they are simply a mom n pop run hobby shop out of Southern California, but despite that, they are bloody efficient... I dunno how the international shipping is though being that I'm in the US and International shipping is a fairly recent endeavor for them...

Their Availability isn't always updated correctly. I would advise e-mailing them first to confirm the availability of all the items you'd like to order, and include a list of 'alternate items' to check their availability too, so you can replace any out-of-stock item with an alternate, then place your order.

I'd say that explains it

They have a tiny shop, and a separate werehouse. When I was there, I saw that the guy at the counter was answering emails, I assumed they were related to the webstore...

I bet you're looking at the T-top MR-2 !!!

If so, you're in luck. I picked one up and they have about 8 more. I can call and find out how many are left. They are about 4 miles away from me.

Their store is probably slightly bigger than your living room, it's that small. Their backroom (warehouse?) seems pretty well stocked. As for their shipping policy, don't know, since I'm 6 miles from them.

They've got a nice little store there, the only thing I don't like is that the prices online are cheaper than in-store. Don't understand why but oh well.

I mail order a lot from these guys. I'm very happy with their service. And I have also found that their availability list is not very current. If you send an e-mail they will respond within a day or so.

Overhead. Its cheaper to run a website then to run a shop. They cant have expensive prices online because people will compare it to other online stores and see which are cheaper.
