Anyone from Canada order from HLJ?

or any other online web sites?
I'm deciding whether or not to buy some models online to avoid the extremely overpriced products in Toronto... thus, leads me to a few questions:

1. How do import taxes affect the shipment?
2. How does the price of the product/s affect the import taxes?

well... I'm still unclear after reading the overviews on HLJ... Confused of this process... so if anyone is kind enough, please tell me the process of their purchases.. thanks

- one very confused modeler

overpriced models?

Ive seen this topic crop up several times, im not too sure what you guys mean by overpriced tho. I pay between $30-35CDN MAX taxes includ for any model tamiya or fujimi or Aoshima. I think thats a pretty good price already. How much cheaper do u want it to be?
I buy all my models from Pacific Mall

There are no duties but there are taxes. $5 canada post handling fee + GST and PST based on the price of your order.

Exactly, ive been dealing with them for over 10years, i kno the owners as well, i dont pay tax for anything at all. Of course i pay cash tho. I also get a discount on the models, so avg $30 a kit. Also the small store couple stores down from pacific models, have great deals for me as well. I never pay tax once agian, and avg 25-30 a model.

hey my name is henry too!!!!

Ordering through HLJ is depending on your luck to get custom charge or not. I frequently order from HLJ. I would say 1 in every 5 times you would have to pay for the tax.

I am a chinese as well but in HK, I used to be in Toronto from 92-95. Just want to let you know that the Enzo here is not cheap at all, the cheapest price I have seen so far is HK$145.
