Mitsu linked to Chrysler?

I heard from someone I trust that Mitsu want to make the 3000GT with a 450hp TT V8 again, again, but they cannot because Chrysler don't let them. Now what I don't understand is what exactly is the relationship between these companies? I understand that there is a Dodge (who are owned by Chrysler) Stealth - a cheaper version of the 3000GT.

But will Mitsu ever be able too make the 3000GT? The Evo cannot compete against a more powerful R35 and more powerful Supra and 5000GT.

The 3000GT will not be coming back. If they ever do bring back a high end mass produced sports car, it won't be remotely the same. I am not familiar with the current relationship between the two companies. I had thought they were both pretty much going their own ways now.

Damn man, you just burst my bubble (but it's better to know the real situation anyway).

But if the two companies are going their seperate ways, then that'll mean Mitsu will make the car as I heard the only thing stopping Mitsu is Chrysler (or Dodge, or whoever).

I heard that Mitsu can't make it as Chrysler aren't in the high performance market but they have the viper (Dodge), and Dodge brought Mitsu because one of Mitsu's executives in Japan ran away with a lot of Mitsu's money.

I was never aware of any link between these two companies.

But Mitsu at least need a more powerful Evo - the R35 will kill a 4 cyl Evo, and Subaru are making a 350hp STi for Japan and Europe (UK as well!), which is 3l or 3.5l and Flat 6.
