new key security

Does a 2002 grand prix se (3100 engine) have the passkey security system? I want to get a spare key made, and I was just wondering if I need to go to the local hardware for $3 or the local car dealer for $40. thanks

Re: new key security

A similar issue is being discussed at the thread below. Look on your original key for any PK3 (Passkey III) etchings or marks. It should be PK3 but I'm not 100% sure if you have it installed as standard equipment but it should. Also, check out your owner's manual.
