Don't buy from FormulaLT1

I understand that this should be in the Classified Feedback forum, but that place is kind of dead right now. I got in touch with John through Ebay and agreeded to buy an aluminum LS1 driveshaft from him for $125 + $20 shipping. He sent me a PayPal invoice on 5-20-07 for $145, which I payed that same day. On 6-7-07 I had not recieved the driveshaft so I emailed John to see what the status was and go no responce. His Email adress was through this board so I came here and registered and seen that he hadn't posted since mid May. On 6-26-07 I filed a PayPal claim against him. He never responded to any of that either and on 7-7-07 Paypal decided in my favor, but was unable to recover any funds.

Fast forward to 1-6-08 I stopped by here and seen where John was active here again so I pm'ed him. He replyed asking for the Paypal payment receipt and stated that if the item was never shipped he sould refund my money no problem. So I get him the receipt and wait.

I finally pm him back on 1-22-08 to find out what is going on and he tells me that he has a tracking number and that he is trying to figure out where it went and if he needs to file a claim. He also asked if a business check or money order would be prefered for my refund.

Fast forward again to 2-5-08 and I still haven't heard back from him again, so I sent another pm. Basically I told him I was done playing his game and that he had a week to figure this out, then I was going to make this post to warn others. Of course I still haven't heard back from him.

I also searched his Ebay username that I first used to get in touch with him and found that there are two others that left negative feedback for John right about the same time that he never shipped my driveline. Both of them are for items never recieved. But I wanted to atleast warn others. If you come to this board John is the moderator on the feedback forum, has alot of posts, and seems to be a well liked guy. At the same time back in June, he basically stole $145 from me and stole money from two people on Ebay.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

i know John and can't believe it was intentional. i know he's very busy running a lot of things and there was probably some confusion in matter.

when i next talk to him i'll ask him to contact you.

He's a great guy and I know he would never intentionally do this to anyone. Hell, I've known him for years to be a stand up gent.

John was highly busy during this period and there must be some misunderstanding of the whole situation, there must be al logical explanation.

John and I have purchased items from each other through ebay/paypal on several occasions. Never had any problems.

it was intended to lighten to mood.

all that know John know that he's not the kind of guy to rip anyone off. and i'm sure it's just confusion and him being busy.

he's a genuine guy.

I'm sure it is a misunderstanding... I know for a fact that UPS has lost packages from John before so this could be the case here... He is a great guy. I vouch for him.

Re: Don't buy from FormulaLT1

I didn't want to say anything, but I was kinda screwed over too.

Back when my car was broken into and he set me up with a great deal to recover my parts, I didn't receive half of them. I sent the full payment and I got a first package with a letter saying that the rest would come later. But it never did. I PM'ed him numerous times, but this was when he went MIA. Haven't said anything since, but its happened to me too.

I doubt that is the case here. Unless he never checked his Email or tried to use PayPal in the last 8 months, plus the two guys on Ebay that never recieved their items.

But here is to hoping that John will make this right.

Re: Don't buy from FormulaLT1

I have had communication with you about this and said I was looking into it. I also stated I would make good if you didn't recieve merchandise for items shipped but was going to look into it first. I also asked how you wanted to be re-embursed if I find it was a error on my part or UPS's (which was a insured package). I stated I would have to check it out since I have a valid tracking number for a DS shipped. This was also within the past few weeks. I work 6 days a week. I am sorry if I am not moving fast enough for you but if bad mouthing me makes you feel better. Go for it.

Sincerely ,

John

+1 vouch for John

Bought an aluminum driveshaft from him quite a while back. Great price and very fast shipping. Wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again. Honest, dependable, and an overall great guy to deal with.
