Hotrod steelies
Quickie here:
Are the steelies and whitewalls in this kit the same as the steelies and whitewalls in the "rat rod" 3-in-1 Ford pickup and T-bucket that Revell put out a while ago? Also, does any aftermarket company make a set as good as those, with perhaps some slightly more stand-out steelies or something? I'm still trying to make my neat little '50s period hotrod '32 coupe, and need some badass wheels and tires for it. Thanks!

Re: Hotrod steelies
Hya there Will.
I broke my head trying to find some good steelies before, the ford 3in1 kit was one of the options but I opted for a AMT Bel-Air '56 kit. It's cheap, especially if you only use it for the rims, and actually can be built up really nice, if you ever want to. Oh, and it has a small model crocodile as a nice extra too in the box. Go find it! oli |

Re: Hotrod steelies
Hey Will, to answer your first question, yes those are the same as in the 29 RPU rat rod kit..and some of the best kit tires available. So far as aftermarket goes, a few places make tires with white walls (replicas and miniatures co, and modelhaus) but for steelie wheels i'm not sure.
Looking forward to seeing the 32 when you post it. Gray |

Re: Hotrod steelies
Hi, I'd also recommend Modelhaus. Their resin is absolute top notch. Dont be discouraged with their website because there aren't any pictures. The have a nice selection of various sized whitewalls, steelies, etc.
These are the only pics I took of the modelhaus stuff (tires only) ... ![]()

Re: Hotrod steelies
Thanks guys, quite helpful. I should've looked more carefully in my RMoM catalog before sending my order. Modelhaus looks pretty awesome, too. But I think I'll just grab the wheels/tires from the Revell kit for efficiency's sake.
