My suspension on my 2004 Alero with a 3400 engine makes a loud creaking noise when I go over speed bumps. The noise kind of sounds similar to a soda can being crushed. This only happens when I go over speed bumps and the noise seems to be coming from the front right wheel area. I'm not sure if anything is necessarily wrong, but this noise has me a little concerned. Is this a problem and if so what are my options for resolving it?

Re: Suspension Noise
Look at any rubber bushings you can find. sometimes they get old and start to dry out, causing the noise. You might try spraying some silicone on them.
I am not a suspension expert, but I have heard that the spray has worked for others. |

Re: Suspension Noise
I had the creaking sound before. The source of the noise turned out to be the upper strut mount and load bearing but was replaced under the bumper to bumper warranty. Also, there was a GM TSB out on this issue. About a year ago the passenger side starting making the same noise but the car was out of warranty. To correct the problem inexpensively I removed the strut assembly, removed the strut from the strut coil spring and lubed the upper strut mount and load bearing with silicone grease.
