Buying the MPFI kit

I was looking to buy a wiring kit from bambam or rywire.

1) I clicked on bambam's website, hybrid creations, and it appears to be dead. Is he no longer in the business? (LadyNRed recomeded him some time ago.)


2) Do you have to send out your harness(s) to a place and have them wire it up for you? Do they not just send you the kit? (this isn't as simple as i thought)

If i have to send my engine harnesses to someone then maybe i'll just ask my mechanic if he'll do the wiring. But it was my original intent to make it as easy as possible for him.

EDIT: FYI, I have complete confidence in my mechanic who said he would do the work. However he's getting older and is less anxious to take on the bigger jobs that he did in his younger years. I'm certain that he is capable of the MPFI swap but I simply was going to buy a kit and save him the trouble.

I'm now wodering if it's possible that he can somehow attempt to do the wiring ahead of time. Or whether it's all got to be done at once.

All done at once, You do need to send them the core. In which case I would reccomend that you not have your mechanic do it, and instead go to the junkyard and find a spare harness to use for the time that they are modifying yours. In fact, just send them the one from the junkyard. Ive heard of many people doing this to minimize downtime. It truly becomes a plug and play affair once you get it back and the harness will look like stock.

Getting an extra core/harness to be worked on ahead of time is exactly the kind of plan i was looking for.

Now because i'm going from D15 to D16A6 I'll should get a MPFI harness/core from an EX or Si, right?

I already sent an email to rywire asking how much extra they'd charge for a setup if i did NOT provide a harness/core.

There are a few JDM importers/speedshops here that specialize in engine swaps. I'll ask them if they'd wire up a harness/core for me. (I would use these guys to do the entire swap if they weren't so expensive.)

You want to get the harness that comes on your car. Thats what they will eb expecting and they are going to convert your harness to work like the si harness.
