02 SS auto 1/4 mile time?

What time in the 1/4 mile do you think this should run?

2002 Camaro SS Automatic
-SLP lid
-flow tech exhaust cut out after the cats
-flowmaster cat back
-shift kit on softest setting
-granatelli maf

its my friends car and he claims it runs high 12's low 13's, i find that had to belive.

Thanks.

you already posted this on camaroz28.com

There are factory freak Z28s and SSs (both M6s and A4s) that have done high 12s bone stock. Most 02s with good drivers are running 13.1-13.5s. On autos the best (easiest) way to reduce your ET is to get a shift kit to firm up the shifts and put on a high stall torque converter.

Tell your friend to get some good tires and with his mods he should get there.

Sounds about right...Very high 12s on an excellent day, low 13s will be the norm though.

Yeah, sounds about right, but unless he's a fabulous driver, he probably won't see high 12's with it. Nothing wrong with low 13's ...

Still though, things like the launch are also important and dependent ont he driver, even in an automatic.

.

If an SS can do a 13.1 stock, what the heck does a Corvette do, and a Z06 do in 1/4 mile?

Regular Corvettes are supposed to do the same as an SS/Firehawk in the quarter. A Z06 is supposed to be in the 12's...

Re: 02 SS auto 1/4 mile time?

My bro has a stock Camaro SS and he can't get it to run any better than 13.36, I have been driving for quite some time and cannot get it under 13.21, both of us had excellent 60ft.
