Re: 2003 Expedition 5.4L
If you do it yourself, the cost will be just parts, and maybe a little cussing. Your vehicle uses an individual coil on plug setup. I would replace the spark plugs first and drive it. If it still misses, go have the codes read again and see which cylinder is missing. Then replace that coil assembly. The spark plugs are held in place by a small 7mm headed bolt. Unplug the wiring, remove the bolt, and pull the coil out of the plug well. The spark plugs take a 5/8 plug socket. There are some of the coils that are a little hard to remove due to other things in the way. Or you can call around and get estimates in your area for a tune up.

Re: 2003 Expedition 5.4L
My wife wants to buy one of these vehicles. Have you guys had or heard of any major problems with them? I'm a Jeep guy, so I don't know much about them. Is it a electronic transfer case for the 4x4? Does the front axle engage with a vaccuum system or a solenoid? What kind of mileage should I expect?
