'95 gm suddenly won't start

It has 180k mi on it, actually just brought home from body shop yesterday. Pass. rear quarter fixed. Today she cranks but won't fire. No previous running prob. Does this sound familiar? What basic, cheap things to check first before calling tow truck? Trans. has been slippin for years too.

Look to be sure the inertia switch is not tripped. Then you need to check to see if spark or fuel is missing. Then tell us which is missing and we can help.

Re: '95 gm suddenly won't start

Thanks for answering. Where is the the inertia switch located, trunk? Is it hidden, covered up? I don't have a repair manual for this car.

The inertia switch is inside the trunk on the drivers side fender. It is located on the vertical brace. It may be behind the trunk liner. Look for a small hole witha red button in it. Make sure the button is depressed and locked down.

Repair shop found corroded wires on the firewall that feed the ignition system, cost $200.
