What engine do you have?

Nope. Just a gimmick. All it does is modify the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. It fools the PCM module into thinking the air temperature is cooler than what it really is. The cost is a rip off for what is claimed.

Here is the real mod to consider if you have a 3400 engine:

Re: performance chips?

Yes those DHP's are great !!

If you have a CAI or modified exhaust it realy makes those mods work even better.

Thats true JC. I'm surprised with the results people are getting. There is a guy with a 3400 Alero that posted on DragTimes including the timeslip. Turned an ET of 14.8 at 91 mph trap speed in the 1/4 with just a CAI, CAT Back exhaust with 2.5" plumbing and the DHP PCM module. Just think of what it will do with S&S headers amd other intake mods from RSM Racing like the 62mm Throttle Body. BTW - RSM is now Z-Spec. I'll keep you all posted on how well the mods really work firsthand.

Realy ! That's a good run with such little mods!!

My SE doesnt have a DHP but it turns a little faster with a few more modifications.

When I had my trans checked out by Raytec (they gave me my clutch kit) they dyno'd it at 223-224 hp, which I thought was very low and it actualy was because they didnt change the PCM settings, they just ran it with my street tune.

Thier's nothing stock in the top end tho.

Another place to pick up some nice engine stuff is here, not cheap tho.

He has a 65mm TB. You would need to enlarge the intake port to use it because it would hit and not open fully.

Damn Bob, it's bed time and you got me all worked up talking about HP & 1/4 miles.

Yeah, Milzy has some nice mods for the 3400 engine. I like that Stage II kit. But $$$$. We're getting ready to order the S&S headers next week. See link below.

Also, add DHP PCM and the Z-Spec 62mm throttle body. Still trying to find the APOC polished and ported intake manifolds. The Milzy ones are nice but I think a little too much for now including the 65mm billet throttle body.

I've been thinking about buying the GT a set of those SS headers, they are a lot more then I paid for the RSM headers I have on the SE.

Doesnt Z-spec still sell the ported intakes ?
My LI is from RSM, I ported the top myself, took me about a week for that and the heads porting.
MMS is very expensive IMO !

My SE heads were build from this project fury page on gmperformance site, he's now running stage 3 heads.
http://www.gbnperformance.com/Project%20V6Fury.htm
He's only tuening 61hp more then me and he's runing 5psi of boost.

I heard some guys have ported thier stock exhaust manifolds and actualy got some gains. I'd have to see it to beleive it.

Re: performance chips?

If I may add some input on this matter. www.pfyc.com has a upgraded cpu that will help as well. I thought I would mention that. Just my 2 cents!

Thanks for the input Andrew but if you check post number 2 and click "Click here" it takes you direct to the PFYC website.

BTW - Technically it is called a Powertrain Control Module - PCM.
