New gta tires

Im going to put new tires on my 89 gta has original honeycomb wheels. Ive only put tires on this once since new since it only has 27000 miles. The last ones were eagle gsc and i put orig size 245 50 16 they look good. What im wondering is can i go a little wider or taller. At the cruise ins i see other cars z28s etc the tires look a little more massive bulging over edge a little. THANKS DAVE

Re: New gta tires

255 is the widest you can go on those rims. Most shops don't carry that size, so you would probably have to order them from tirerack.com or whatever other tire site you prefer. You can go taller, up to about 60 I believe, but it would give you more of a 4x4 look honestly.
