Quality comparison
I've built several Tamiya kits, which have, IMO, unsurpassable quality. However, I've never built a Fujimi kit. How do they rank against the Tamiya?

Well lets see. IMO, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being best) I'd give Tamiya a 9. IMO, Fujimi gets a 3. I think Fujimi models are crap.

I give Fujimi a 6 point. Imai and Nichimo have about 3 points each. All other brand model kit will not have the perfect fit, only Tamiya. If you think Tamiya can't give your anymore challenge, go into fujimi or aoshima or any other brands. You will find that there are more thing to consider before you start fitting up all the parts. IMO, fujimi and the rest of the brand are not perfect, you are the one to make it perfect. (I still remember someone here said that before, I totally agree with that.):hehe:

I've found several flaws in Tamiya kits, but most of them are in reissues of older kits, where the molds may be wearing out.

Comparing Tamiya to Fujimi is like comparing Angus Beef to :spam2:

Yeah, Fujimi kits need to be priced much cheaper, like Revell and Monogram.

Fujimi kits don't have fitment problems, it's more like they have gross inaccuracies. You won't have any trouble putting together a kit, but it would look like a 4x4 or something when it's done. Plus the interior and underchassis details seem to be interchangeable according to Fujimi, you might be building an RX7 on an R32 chassis. If there was rice in the modeling world, Fujimi might be it. Trying to make kits look like what they aren't. Just my .02

I guess Tamiya cannot really be compared to the others in the market as they seem to be in a league of their own. What I don't get is how Fujimi is priced higher than the Tamiya kits??? But, with that said Tamiya is certainly value for money, IMO

Sometimes there are things in fujimi kits that just can't be fixed, such as the bumper on a skyloine R32 bieng too big, compare the fujimi skyline R32 to the Tamiya R32 and you'll see a BIG difference if you look close enough. I had many problems with my first fujimi kit,not tryin to scare you but fujimi might not be so fun after doing alot of tamiya kits.

Tamiya- 8 (no engine not much interior details)
Fujimi- -1 shit detail all round, cars are nearly never proportioned, shit weak plastic, no interior detail at all, no engine, crap wheels, stupid ride height & their boxes never have what their actual model looks like. Probably because they look so shit! Only get Fujimi if no other manufacturer makes the kit you want. |

If you really like that car and tamiya does'nt make it ( such as the altezza/ IS), then go for fujimi, that's what I would do.
Lowryda, there are plenty of Tamiya kits with engine, 300zx, skyline, supra... |
