01 lesabre abs & trac control problem
I recently bought a 01 lesabre custom. The Abs light stays on and the system doesnt work. I checked all four wheel sensors and they all read exactly the same at .92k ohms. Also the traction off light stays lit and I cant change its status by hitting the button and this system doesnt work as well.
any help would be apriciated thanks Kevin |

Re: 01 lesabre abs & trac control problem
You need to have the system scanned with an ABS capable scanner. We could only speculate without some codes to help. More than likely, you have a bad speed sensor, bearing hub, or frayed exposed wire somewhere. A good scan can narrow down the many possibilities here.

Re: 01 lesabre abs & trac control problem
I agree a scan should be performed with an ABS capable scanner preferably with a GM Tech II.
A common problem on GM/Bosch 5.3 ABS systems is the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM). Especially when you cannot control the traction control system and/or the traction off light stays lit.

Re: 01 lesabre abs & trac control problem
ok noone around here has a compattable scanner. So I purchased a used module/pump from the junk yard. It took a wile to get most of the air out of the system. The pump can now be heard engaging but the tires still slide, and both lights are still on on the dash. and I cant control the trac yet. I even disconected the battery in hopes of reseting the system. any ideas on what to check next?
