Polish over decals?
Hey guys,
Looking to bring some life to an old model that was only painted about 5 years ago.. The decals are still in great shape however the paint is dull. Can i polish it? |

Re: Polish over decals?
I wouldn't polish over decals unless it's been cleared good! Once my clear is dry then I polish over the decals.

Re: Polish over decals?
I would try polishing any decals that are in an inconspicuous area first (if you can). I've had great success polishing and waxing over Tamiya decals, although it was right after they were applied.
Are the edges of the decal silvering? Are the decals lifting anywhere? Here is an example of decals that were polished over: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?p=4820433 |

Re: Polish over decals?
I would use some wax only or low abrasive automotive paste (something like sonax 3 in one or any other milky stuff). Just don't rub over decals to much.
Of course if the decals confirm well as jmwallac said. |
