Phobias

In sports, whenever someone goes down, and stays down, everybody huddles around the injured person. When it was me, that shit was really unnerving. People swarming about you at the drop of a hat, like a band of hyenas......it just really rubbed me the wrong way....... asking me "Are you ok? Are you ok? Are you ok?" when the obvious answer is "no" in my mind, but more than likely, 90% of the time, I could just walk it off. So then, there was also the fact that these assholes asking me if I'm okay were putting me at risk of getting taken out of the game if I accidentally said "yes".

So that's my phobia, people fucking with me when I'm injured. Even though they actually aren't, it feels like they are blood-lusting when they rush around you and offer absolutely no consolation whatsoever. What is YOUR phobia? If it's heights, or drowning, don't post it because those phobias are boring (JMO)

That's a phobia? I wonder if there's a name for that. I don't think that counts as a phobia does it? The definition of a phobia is something you avoid and not soething you hate when the action is performed. Sounds more like a pet peeve.

My phobia fits your definition just fine. When I drunkenly fell down the stairs the other night, without even thinking - the first words out of my mouth were, "STAY AWAY!" to those around me. So that's me attempting to "avoid" something.

If I made a pet peeve thread, there would be 100 replies with people bitching about left lane hogs and cell phones. Phobias, in general, are far more interesting, even if mine sucks.
