porsche gt3r?????
while i saw a japanese drifting video i noticed that the guy had a gt3 R i noticed it because of decal's and the bad ass look's it had and well all i have seen in the states is the gt3 mostly 1999 version's and well is this type "R" version of it only for japan, i mean we're getting screwed then and i also noticed while watching twin ring motegi from jgtc a few porshe's named you guessed it gt3 R so what's the deal?

Easy, the GT3R is the race-only version of the GT3. It's gutted a little and equipped with a roll cage as well as a few other races perks, but that's the only difference. The whole purpose of the GT3 was to race it in the GT3 class. The street versions (Just GT3) are the cars needed to homolgate the GT3 as an actual car (I forget the number needed, someone will know).
There's also the GT3 RS or Rennsport, which is just another race version of the GT3. They are used quite extensively all over the world.

![]() Actually, the GT3 R has stiffer spring rates, a few lighter body panels, beefier brakes, etc. Not by much however, the GT3 itself is a thinly veiled race car ![]() Air conditioning? We don't need no stinkin air conditioning
