damn! got smoked by a civic hb

I got smoked by a 92 civic hb. I went out racing tonight at the usual spot. I hear about this new kid who has a white civic that supposiblys runs low 11s so of course i want a shot. we meet up and go out in the middle of nowhere and race. We line up, we take off the usual. He beats me off the line ( i usually get beat off the line, but 2nd is a bitch) and of course I slam it into 2nd and pull up right next to him. and i shift again and he shifts and finally pulls ahead about 3 feet and beats me by 3 feet. We go and park and look under the hood. He has a fully built b18c motor and a turbo i think he said something about 19psi of boost but i dont remember but i do know it was way up in the teens. He also has a 30 shot of nos to get him off the line. I knew it. His car is a stripped down hb with nothing in it but 2 seats and a nos bottle.. So, i want to run again but it was getting late, so i am going to run him again next week. I am thinkin about upping he boost to 15psi currently i am running 6psi.
What do you guys think? Up the boost? Or will it blow internals?

Why are you only running 6lbs and why are you worried about your internals if you have what you say you have in your sig?
Also, no way you're busting low 11s on 6lbs at 8.8:1 compression

You have a fully built motor from top to bottom, yet you are only running 6psi on 8.8:1 compression? Are you breaking this motor in? If so, why did you bother racing in the first place? You are only running 6psi, but you are running with an 11 second car who is running 19psi and has a 30 shot to spool? What do you have as a fuel system? This really has my curiousity now.

Mine as well...8.8:1 and 6lbs running with 19lbs and a 30 shot? Did you swap the 2.4L out for an LS1 or something??

yes i havea fully built motor. But its a daily driver. I dont like to up the boost because i am paranoid about blowing my engine. Why ? Because i have spent thousands of dollars on my engine and my car and dont want it to go because of just cause a couple lbs of boost. I ran 11s at 12psi. I was even scared to do that. I know my engine could handle but i am not that much of a risk taker. I found out today that the guy was only running like 15psi and yes he was running a 30 shot. I am not breaking in my motor although it is pretty fresh only about 10000 miles on the turbo and built motor. I am however, still getting used to the clutch. i am out got to get back to class. Pm me if anymore qs.
