I LOVE IMPREZAS!!!! specially the new STi so no matter what you do i will still love it but why use the stock metalic blue paint? ive seen a really really hot sti where the guy just painted it a flat blue and moded it and didnt use gold rims. Im just laying down a suggestion if yours really wants to stand out but no matter what it will look good man g/l!

U should get orange peel if used cheap spray paint or if ur Nozzle is clogged, or another reason is if u dont know how to spray. I had orange peel on my first model cuz i wasnt good at spraying and my next models were perfect.

You ought to clearcoat it for best results.

Worry about it? - No. Consult the PMan painting FAQ? - Yes. There's a ton of ways to address the peel. It's up to you.
Can't wait to see it finished. |

polishing away the orange peel
isnt it possible to get rid of the orange peel by simply waxing and polishing long enough?? I think i read that in the FAQ..

Looks good,
Could see that you have done some compund work on the body, but there still seem to have orange peel on it. Maybe you could sand it and respray it again? |

Take the time to address the paint. The easy road of clearcoat will not solve the problem.
Wet sand the paint smooth. Wash and prep for painting. Spray two extremely light mist coats and one final wet coat. Let each of these three coat dry before application of the next coat. That orange peel looks to be from the paint starting to dry and you were still putting a heavy coat on. - My guess? |
