Tamiya Audi TT DTM?

I was surfing the Tamiya homepage when I saw that Tamiya has release a R/C version of the Audi TT DTM.
Normally there is a straight connection between the R/C and the plastic models in Tamiya. Can this be an indication that Tamiya is preparing us a surprise and release on of the most wonted 1/24 cars?
I sincerely hope so.

Sadly, no. Tamiya has a long history of licensing cars for their RC line only. The capital outlay between a scale model and an RC shell is vastly different. In a way, they are being hurt by their previous successes (i.e. the detail level expected is so high, they can no longer be anything but the best...only rarely do they do silly things i.e. With ME XX)...as are we.

Unless I'm wrong, in which case..woohooo!!!

They also have a really nice Corvette C5R, but I'm not holding my breath to see the 1/24 appear.

I'd love to think they would do this kit in a 1/24 scale, but it doesn't look like it

Well, Tamiya wants to make one, so there are some other factors, that holds them back.
It could be...
Expected low sales volume (...which is unlikely as we have the MB and Opel, that sell well in Europe.)
High licensing cost (highly possible)
Lack of human resources (definitely yes)

We just have to buy more kits, and bring your friends to this hobby.

it would be a dream but I don't think they will release this.. License's fees are probably too high (strange cos 2 of 3 DMT car have been released.. )

Nothing strange about Audi wanting more for licensing that MB and Opel...

What is strange is hiro's mention of lacking of HR @ Tamiya! I never would have guessed that our beloved company was understaffed.
