baby done good, done real good .....

Managed to break away from the GF tonite, and went to party with an old HS bud. On the way home, after a Carl's pit stop, I decided to cruise around a bit to see if I could get someone to run. I was cruising Eastbound down Colorado near Sierra Madre when I noticed a sedan revving at me going the other way. There was some cops ahead apparently an accident or a robbery or something so I couldn't do a U-turn. I kept going for a few more blocks then did a Uie and went after the guy. He got a red on Sierra Madre and I caught up and moved into the lane next to him(left). It was a 94-96 Impala. I rolled down the passenger side window (he had his down) and asked, "Hey man you wanna run". "Yeah, O.K." he replied. The light turned green while I was still looking at him and he got a split second jump. Fortunately he couldn't hook for shit. I slammed the accelerator, hooked pretty good and jumped 1-1 1/2 cars ahead of him. I kept on it and had many cars(at least 4) by the time I hit 80 mph. I slowed down and coasted next to him again. We went a few more blocks before we caught another red. I asked, "What is that an LT1?". He said "It's an SS Impala, it's got an LT1". He asked "What you got down there?". I said "LS1, you wanna go again?". He nodded. The light turn green and this time he hooked. He jumped to about a half car lead on me. He kept it all the way to about 60. By 80 I was even with him and pulling hard. I ran it all the way up to 110 and had about 1.5-2 cars on him. We hit the next light and I gave him a big thumbs up. "Fucking good run man" I said. He gave me a thumbs up and then turned right. All in all, she doesn't get much exercise, but she did good, she did real good tonight .

Nice kill! That Impala must have a good deal of mods to run so close with you! What part of CA do you live in, Danno?

Pasadena fatninja19.

I was really surprised on the second run. So much so that I didn't think to ask what mods he had. I know the LT1s generate better low-end torque than the LS1s. That's probably why he jumped out ahead when he got traction and it took a while for me to reel him in.

Sounds like you did very well. I bet he did have some good mods on his LT1, because his Impala SS should be heavier than your SS...

Dont Impala SS' run something like high 14's??? And one to be that close to a LS1 f-body must have a fair amount of mods!

Yeah, high 14's with a good driver, it's a beast outfitted to fit five comfortably. Some even made it to be police cruisers. I wouldn't have minded finding one of those when it went out of service...

Impressive. Those SS's can be true haulers. They're way up there in the list of "Black GM thingies that haul ass". Under only the Buick GNX's and the GMC Syclone in my book.

Maybe I should ask my cousin if he's willing to sell his Typhoon.

Anyways, good kill.

fuzzy pic

Here's a couple of fuzzy pic's of my car. It really looks identical to the pic that Red posted except mine's got the ZR-1 rims and an SS grille. I really need to get my own digital camera.
