It's so rare that nobody's ever seen one.
Well technically there isn't one, but Alpina did make an 'M8' I think. You be best to try checking them.

No, this Polish kid does not own an M8. There was only one ever made, by BMW's M division. You may be referring to an 850csi, though. The csi is basically the M of the 8 series. It actually is an M car, just not by name. It was assembled in the M factory and it has M engine covers, door handles, wheels, etc. They are even considered an M car by the M club of America. The M8, however, was a one-off with a lightweight kevlar body, wider wheels, and various performance upgrades. It was painted bright orange.
Even if it was a csi, it is still a very rare car...only about 450 were improted to the US. Even a regular 8 is fairly rare, with only about 4000 in the country. |

the only M badge on the car from the factory was on the intake cover. if there was one on the body, it was put on by the owner, not the factory. The csi was not the same as the ci, it had a higher performance engine, body kit, wider wheels, etc. The M8 is something completely different. All of this is pretty confusing, just ask if you have more questions.

The 850i, which is no different from the ci save for the badge. This is exactly like my car except mine is lowered with 18" M Parallel Rims:

There were 215 850CSi s imported into the US and 1510 produced worldwide. The US Spec 850CSi s were imported in 1994-95 and the Euro 850CSi s were produced from 1992-1995.
Great replys and photos! Sean 1991 850i

Acutally, the 850i is different than the 850 Ci made from i think 94 or 95 to 98. it has about 325 horsepower, an increase in litres from 5.0-5.4 and a different body kit.

they were 322hp in '95 and '96, but there ere very few imported to North America...most of these are euro cars. After the summer of '96 they didn't sell 8s over here anymore, I think.

Uh the new versions of the 850 Ci were not imported from Europe, i was able to get one from canada. they were not euro spec, it was a general change to it.

Uh the change to the 850 Ci was a general change in all cars in the world. it was not suro spec, and mostly none of the 8 seriews made had euro only specs. the only difference i noticed in teh 8 series form Na and Europe is the M mirrors on the 850 CSi's.
