Cats and Dogs

Don't know if this has been done before, but which do you prefer?

Personally, I like dogs, but I'm much more of a cat person.

I go allong with the old proverb that 'you own a dog but you feed a cat'...If you want a pet that loves you unconditionally,get a dog.If you want a pet that can think for itself get a cat.

Cats are definitely smarter though.............

I prefer cats, but I wouldn't mind getting a small, non-stinky dog.

When I was a kid we had a really great German Shepherd mix, though. She played soccer and would go on slides at parks. She was incapable of feeling pain...we'd try to kick the ball sometimes and miss, but it never fazed her.

We had to give the dog away when we moved though..had a hard time finding a home for her as she couldn't be fenced in. She would climb over any fence less than 7 feet tall.

I love both. I've always had 2 cats and a dog growing up and I like it that way. I can't wait to get a place of my own so I can start with my own "collection" of pets.

Im a dog man myself. Never had much use for a cat, seems to me like cats care more about themselves than they do about there owners.

Dog = mans best friend

Although, im sure with the proper training, a cat would be ok too. I just like dogs better, thats all.

Cats are definitely smarter though.............

Let me preface this by saying that I love dogs. Cats are okay, but nothing beats a dog. But I have to mildly disaggree with this statement. Average intelligence is a relative thing. I've seen stupid dogs, and stupid cats. But you show me one cat, that can be trained to herd cattle, or sheep. Or even use simple tools. Yes various species of dog have learned to fashion simple tools, and put them to use. For that matter so have birds and some fish. I don't belive that there are any known tool using cats....

Admittedly they are still pretty cool animals.
