First thing you want to check is under the carpet where you right foot would rest on the floor. Youll probably find a group of wires that has corroded apart, believe they where orange or red.

Scanner tool is only usefull really for driveability concerns, ie check engine lights and such. Repair manuals are always useful but If you are a serious do-it-yourselfer buy the GM manuals. They may be more expensive but have alot more usefull info them the other's. Try HelmInc.com for factory manuals.

Exact Same Problems...
I have a 1995 Blazer LT with the exact same problems. My power drivers seat doesnt work at all, The power mirrors dont work at all, and my rear windowwiper arm will buzz, with a little help it will work, but most of the time it will just buzz. All the windows work great though... Have you figured out how to get these power options to work yet? can anyone help?

The circuit breaker is either located in your fuse panel or under the dash, they put them in two different places depending on the year. They are silver blade looking and almost resemble a large fuse. hope this helps

Thanks man, this may be a stupid question but, how do you get access to the power seat switchs, its like attached to the seat... i dont see how i can get to it without taking the entire seat off? does it just pull out or push in?

Re: power seat and electrical windows problem
Best thing to do is pop the caps on the back and front rails... Use a 15mm box wrench to remove the nuts (even though it doesn't look like it, you will be able to get to the rear nuts...
Once the nuts are removed, pick your seat up and tilt it back... You will see 2 plugs... One is for your lumbar, the other is for your power seats...They are interchangeable as they are on the same circuit... Orange is 12v positive, black is ground... Disconnect these 2 wires... Get a multimeter... Check the power to the floor side plugs... Since some of the wire is corroded you may or may not get power... Snip out the corroded portions. Splice in new wiring (color doesn't matter, hard to find orange wire, use 10/12 gauge... Get a spool or red and a spool of black) Splice these wires into place. You can use butt connectors and a crimper but doing that is unreliable... The best way is to solder them, then cover w/ heat shrink, then tape...

Re: power seat and electrical windows problem
The driver's side molding is actually riveted to the seat frame.... and the controls are snapped into the back of the molding. The passenger side is only held on by clips (unless that is power too)

Thank you, im going to do that today, i'll let you guys know how it works out... i know its not the circuit breaker because the breaker is for the powerseats, and power locks and the power locks still work so its not the breaker...
Also, what about the passenger power lumber? wiring and what not? where do the wires go for that? |
