Some Swedish Rally reference PICS

Note this time I am being very PC as not to be bumped off the forum to the racing section per last time!!!!
I spent 2 days in the swedish forest watching the Swedish leg of the WRC rally great fun !!!!!!!!
I tried my best to get REFERENCE pics for all you avid MODELLING fans out there in AF land.
Though I did manage this I fell short of getting better REFERNCE pics, I was so shocked at the amount of peope!!!!!!!! the Grönholm Mäkinen and Solberg garage areas was completely packed with fellow fins and norwegians I was lucky to get the shots I did.
Sorry RallyRaider could not get enough REFERENCE pics of the new Peugeot cars
just click on my homepage below and then on "my pictures of the swedish rally" and see if you can use these REFERENCE pics to help in building MODELS
hope you enjoy

Yeah, took a bit of headscratching on my part to find them

I'd say the pics are quite helpful, especially the Citroen, so thank you!

Thanks heaps Darren. Lots of good REFERENCES for MODELERS! The open Pug door and hatch reveal some interesting details, like the twin shovels strapped to the inside of the hatch (wonder of only Bursies car carried them ). I am almost getting to the stage where I don't mind the new livery

Did you have a great time in the cold?

yeah RallyRaider
I love the silver grey peugoet of the previous years.. the car looked more "regal" now they just look like a Lancer Evo or a "ferrari??"
I have nothing against those two cars but the silver gray was uniquely peugoet's
Do you know why they changed colours?
Was it more sponsership from TOTAL you think
THe cold was OK I have been living in happily in Sweden for four years now and minus one or two is "normal"
Standing for a couple of hours though in the service park... with slushy ice and wind will get to you, your fingers and toes feel like falling off.

I mean my main page

sorry about that

I've only seen pages on Swedish lifestyle, something about Trinidad and a page on Art, which has some models. All very nice, but wtf are those reference pics? and the rally-live.com page didn't loaded. So yes, I would have preferred that you posted the pics in the rally thread, but I guess that's only me then.

but hey! that's weird, after I clicked "back to main page" I got a different main page, now with 206 background 'and' a link to your pictures Anyway, I've found them and yes, the Citroen's are very nice indeed!

More than 20megs and I have to pay (NOT!!!!!)

You were on the right track with the Ferrari and Lancer. Like them the Pugs are now Marlboro red. Switched over from Mitsubishi at the start of this season. So far this year they have rallied in countries that don't allow the dreadied tobacco advertising, so we've just seen the white boxes on stage. Maybe Turkey has no advertising restrictions, therfore we might see the 206 in the full Marlboro livery there.

Interestingly TOTAL still have the most promenant positions on the car, I guess they got in first.

I did not know they had Marlboro sponsership. I did not think they would, isn't rallying going the way of F1? And how many rallying countries have a ban on cigg adds???
IT would be interesting to see a PUG in Full Marlboro red

A lot of countries still allow cigarette advertising. WRC is in exactly the same boat as F1, in that tobacco advertising is allowed until 2006 or so. Here are the launch pics from last December of the Marlboro livery. Looks better with the Monte and Sweden white squares to me.
