I've got the "unknown" ones also (black housing), and when my car was black, they looked hella tight. They still look good now, but my car is a different color. I love them, and I haven't had ANY problems with them at all... The clear covers are made of high-impact resistant plastic, so you don't have to worry about them cracking or chipping... Overall, they are very sturdy, quality, units, and I haven't seen the APC ones myself, but I'd bet that they are pretty poorly made (judging by the other APC products I've seen).

A few things to be aware of though:
1.) they are only made for the CRX, so you have to swap the mounting brackets with the OEM lights.

2.) They extend deeper into the engine bay than the OEM hatch ones, and when I put mine in, they were right up agains my K&N intake filter, so I had to push the intake around so that they would fit... you may or may not have this problem depending on which intake system you have, but it still works anyways...

3.) The black-housing projectors look pretty dumb with OEM corner lenses, or clear lenses. My solution to this problem was to pop the covers off the OEM lenses, and spray-paint the chrome reflective housing black to match the projectors... looks pretty tight. I've seen a few sets of black-housing corner lenses on e-bay, but they are ALL for CRX's or Sedans, and do not fit in the hatchies.

4.) Make sure that when you install the lights that you have them professionally aimed/aligned, otherwise, they are pretty dim. When they are properly aligned, they are pretty damn bright.

Good luck.

Personally, I ordered mine from: www.autodynamic.com and they were pretty good. Shipped quickly, and the price was pretty decent to boot. Haven't checked prices on them elsewhere lately though, so shop around.

you can also tint your clear corners using a spray available at your local hobby shop.

Do projectors actually help? I mean, can you see better at night and are they brighter?

yes, you can paint your headlights and they will still emit a good amount of light, I also had my bumper lenses tinted (they were stolen)

i have the black ones, and they are awesome. to get the matching corners, im doing the simple thing, buying the ones for the CRX and modding my car so they fit. im just gonna put CRX fenders on it, since the car is going to be kitted and painted soon. get the black ones, they rock
